Manufacturing & ICS/OT — where an exposed asset is an operations problem, not just a data problem.

The threat, specifically

Manufacturing environments blend two worlds that were never designed to share a network: corporate IT, which gets patched and monitored on a normal cadence, and plant-floor operational technology, which often runs on protocols and controllers chosen for reliability over decades, not for security. A supplier VPN, a remote-monitoring gateway for a production line, or a historian server bridging OT data to a corporate dashboard can each become the path from an ordinary phishing email to a halted production line. And because downtime on the plant floor costs real output, most standard testing approaches — the kind that assume you can safely fuzz an endpoint into a crash — simply aren't safe to run here.
